Best Thing We Ate Last Night: Charred Octopus at Dell'Anima

Finding perfectly tender, gently charred octopus is no small feat in this town (the mass majority are either rubbery or burnt to a crisp) but at West Village Italian standby, dell'anima, you can expect exactly that. While almost all of the dishes here change seasonally, the charred octopus served on a bed of rice and beans with chorizo and chicories is one of our go-tos when dining at this always solid neighborhood spot. And while the dell team (Joe Campanale, Gabe Thompson, et all) has gone on to open newer joints like the recent L'Apicio and next door's Anfora, dell'anima will always have a special place in our hearts/stomachs (and added bonus: very close proximity to our apartment).
