|Barcelona in Atlanta|
The 240-seat restaurant is an ode to Spanish cuisine, featuring tapas and entrees such as paellas, with a beverage program that includes cocktails and wines by the glass (upwards of 40) with a focus on selections from Spain and South America. The mix of reclaimed wood and other raw materials, such as glass, wire and slate (the menus are offered on the latter), give the place a warm, vintage appeal. There’s a bar/lounge area with booths and high tops, a main dining room of tables, and extensive patio seating (in warmer weather, of course).
Executive chef Steven Brand, a graduate of Johnson & Wales, has worked at Upstairs on the Square, XO Café in Providence, and Jean Georges in New York City. Menu prices will span from $5 for tapas to upwards $28 for entrees.
While this is the eighth location for Barteca Restaurant Group, there is no cookie-cutter layout, says marketing director Ria Rueda. The menu will be similar as the other locations, but Brand will also create his own specials.
Barteca operates six Barcelona Wine Bars in Connecticut and one in Atlanta. American Craft formerly occupied the space in Brookline.
Barcelona will be open Monday through Thursday 5 PM-12:30 AM; Friday and Saturday 5 PM-2 AM; and Sunday 4 PM-12:30 AM.
