24 Chicago Bartenders Return in One Piece After 24 Hours in NYC

Anyone have a hard time getting a quality cocktail last night? That is because 24 of the city’s best bartenders flew to New York City at the crack of dawn on Sunday for 24 hours of charitable drinking. The group contained Charles Joly (The Aviary), Erin Hayes (La Sirena Clandestina), Paul Sauter (Double A), Peter Vestinos (BellyQ) and organizer Daniel de Oliveira. The day, which included sponsored meals and cocktail tastings, raised money for The Pancreatic Cancer Society.

We were following their antics on Twitter via the hashtag #OccupyNYC24, which included a man in a bear suit offering Sepia bartender, Josh Pearson, a bottle of Malort at the top of the Williamsburg Bridge. The group hit up popular cocktail joints such as Death & Co., PDT, Pouring Ribbons, The Tippler and Mayahuel. A few of the crawlers got tattoos of the number 24 inside an apple; something to remember the journey by, since they probably don’t remember much else.
