Weekend Planner: Holiday Shopping, Champagne Drinking and Bacon Eating

Eat Bacon
It’ll be hog heaven at Two, tonight, when a four-course beer and bacon dinner takes over the restaurant. Start at 6:30 PM with fried pig face and then move into the meal of beer smoked ribs and pork shoulder. Tickets cost $75 (312-624-8363).

Buy Gifts
If you missed the boat on holiday shopping, fear not. Saturday, Martyn George will turn into the foodie gift mecca with a shopping party featuring china platters to crystal decanters and 1960s-era etched glass bar-ware. Pleasant House Bakery will provide pies and mulled wine (312-340-4666).

Eat Cake
We love sipping on bubbly cocktails while munching on tasty desserts made by Sable’s Heather Terhune. We love doing this even more when we know that all of the proceeds from our $25 ticket benefit the Grater Chicago Food Depository. The champagne and dessert tasting takes place on Saturday at 2 PM (312-985-0701).

Drink Beer
Sip on the latest beer collaboration between two new-on-the-scene breweries. Dryhop and Begyle brewery will release their Black IPA on Tuesday at Northdown. Tapping takes place at 5 PM, but stop by at 7 PM to chat with the brewers (773-697-7578).
