Two Chefs Give Back for the Holidays

Jake's crab cake probably isn't in the care package, but turkey will satisfy
It’s the giving season, and two area chefs have found food-focused ways to help those in need. Max Hansen runs a catering company in Bucks County, but most of his clients are in areas hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. He’s asking folks in those neighborhoods who are having a hard time getting a Christmas dinner together to e-mail him a note about their hardship by Friday. He’ll provide meal deliveries on December 24 to as many families as he can feed.

For the 16th year running, Bruce Cooper of Jake’s and Cooper’s Wine Bar will partner with local nonprofits to cook, assemble and deliver holiday dinners to homebound senior citizens in the region. The restaurateur will spend the entire day on Sunday on the project, which will result in 400 packages of turkey with all the trimmings landing on tables of people who will surely appreciate them. Holiday cheer that makes you feel good.
