The Mince Pie Project Raises Nearly £30K for Charity

Last week we told you about The Mince Pie Project - a 72-hour auction which gave Londoners the chance to bid on mince pies created by top chefs like Angela Hartnett, Atul Kochhar and Tom Aikens. The bidding is now over, money counted and a record £29,292 has been raised. This impressive total - triple the amount raised in 2011 - will be donated to Galvin’s Chance and homeless charity Crisis.

The highest bid of £1900 was for taken for head chef at Duck and Waffle, Daniel Doherty’s box of 50 gingerbread mince pies with orange frosting. That's a whopping £38 per mince pie! Eating well and giving something back - it's everything we love about Christmas.
