The Dead Rabbit Draws Near, Publishes Menus

It's been more than a year since we first heard rumblings that an 1850s-themed tavern was in the works in FiDi - and now it seems like The Dead Rabbit is finally ready to open its doors to the Lincoln-crazed masses. According to the bar's Facebook page and website, opening day is nigh, and there's plenty of exciting stuff in store from founder Sean Muldoon (of Belfast's Merchant Hotel bar) and head bartender Jack McGarry (of London's Milk & Honey).

The ground-floor Taproom will be an "honest working man's pub," with a menu of craft beers, bottled punches and whiskeys, plus traditional English food like pot pies, Scotch eggs and Ploughman's lunches served throughout the day. Meanwhile, the upstairs Parlor will be a more sophisticated affair, with communal punches and 72 historical cocktails, listed together under different categories such as Sours and Fizzes, Slings and Toddies and Flips, Possets and Nogs. There will also be a daily "green happy hour," featuring specially-priced absinthe cocktails and $1 oysters, and occasional live entertainment and guest-bartending stints from master mixologist Gaz Regan.
