The Best Thing We Drank Last Night: Jbird's Honey Nut Old-Fashioned

Happy Prohibition Repeal Day! We’re thanking our lucky stars that we live in a U.S. where speakeasies are a worn-out trend and making your own moonshine is a quirky hobby that’ll win you points on your OKCupid profile, not a drinking necessity. Otherwise, where would we find cocktails like the amazing Honey Nut Old-Fashioned at Jbird on the Upper East Side?

We were skeptical at first, because the drink is made with roasted peanut-infused bourbon, honey syrup and aromatic bitters, which sounds like it could be way too sweet for our tastes, but it’s actually not particularly sweet at all. Subtle notes of honey and citrus make it go down easy, but the taste is primarily nutty – and boozy. Let’s just say Don Draper (or his 1920s criminal equivalent) would approve.

The best part of all? It’s only $12. For a drink designed by the team at Death & Co., that’s a steal.
