Tavern on the Water Shuttered, Property in Need of 'Remediation'

Tavern on the Water, the casual eatery in Charlestown with panoramic views of Boston, shuttered recently. The Legendary Restaurant Group, which owned the business, decided not to renew the lease. “It didn’t make sense to hold onto the place,” says Chris Damian, a partner and chef of LRG. “It really didn’t represent what we did anymore.” The business is for sale.

What’s more, the land on which Tavern on the Water sits - Shipyard Quarters Marina - is in need of "remediation," according to a Charlestown Patch report. The public hearing is scheduled for December 12 on the conditions. The landlord of the property, Martin Oliner, could not be reached by the time of this posting.

The Legendary Restaurant Group recenty opened Burger Dive in Somerville, and is working on opening a second Papagayo in the same Assembly Square Mall area in Somerville sometime in 2014.
