Steak Truck on the Horizon From Josh Kim of Spot Burgers

Kim cooks up mussels on his truck; are steaks next?
What's not to like about a door-to-door steak delivery service? Josh Kim, owner and chef at the wildly popular food truck Spot Gourmet Burgers, recently put out feelers to gauge interest in what he calls The Steak Truck, and the response was good enough that he is moving forward. His operation would deliver custom prepared steaks and sides to your door, anytime between 4-10 PM within a five-mile radius from that day’s location.

The menu would include a selection of prime cuts like porterhouse, NY strip and filet mignon, as well as steak tartar. Though a mobile kitchen might not seem the best place to cook up fancy meals, Kim is already an expert at making the tiny truck work beyond its call of duty: he has recently offered elegant specials like sautéed mussels and fancy sfogliatelle pastries.

According to the meat master, The Steak Truck is just one of several projects he has in the works for 2013. “Gonna shake the foodie universe,” he recently tweeted. Stay tuned.
