Star chef Bryan Voltaggio plans to open Range, his vast American restaurant in Chevy Chase, on or around December 18. Earlier this week, we got an advance tour of the dynamic modern space and a chance to taste the Mid-Atlantic regional cuisine. Its 14,000-sq.-ft. space has an open kitchen design with marble-topped eating counters running along the charcuterie, bakery, raw-bar, rotisserie and wood-fired-hearth stations. There’s a separate bar and multiple enclaves of tables and low-backed booths, with glass walls overlooking a huge central atrium. Check out the slide show for a preview of this spectacular venue.
