Remember a few weeks ago, when chef Evan Funke - formerly of Rustic Canyon, now awaiting to open Bucato at the Helms Bakery - launched a porchetta-only food truck? Yeah, well he's devilishly tempting us and just about anyone who's paying attention with snaps from said truck while he roams the streets. Usually each sandwich comes piled with the sliced roast pork loin that's been seasoned with garlic, fennel and rosemary, plus pork belly, crispy pork rinds and pa pesto-lardo spread. But then why not add an egg? The best part: the darn thing is only $5. Finding the truck isn't difficult if you follow BucatoLA on Twitter, but it's still only out intermittently. We will drive across rush-hour traffic for this.
