New York Dining Deals and Events: December 17 to 23

Monday, December 17

New Alphabet City cocktail bar Evelyn Drinkery will host a mezcal tasting from 6-7 PM and a live jazz band from 8-11 PM. If you want to drop by for some free sips of the Mexican spirit, you can RSVP to arik@fidenciomezcal.com.

Tuesday, December 18

Have a drink at Swine in the West Village, which just launched a new beverage deal dubbed "Tappy Hour," which features special prices on beverages from the taps (beer and wine) from 3 to 7 PM.

Wednesday, December 19

Hit up Hakkasan in Midtown to try out the spot's new pre-theater menu, which is available from 5:30-6:30 PM. The three-course offering includes dishes like a steamed dim sum selection and red snapper with chili sauce. It also includes a cocktail or glass of wine, which means the price tag of $38 per person is a value.

Thursday, December 20

Today is national sangria day, and Astoria's MexiBBQ is celebrating with Agua Loco, a special blend of red wine and rose that's available for $9 a glass. The specialty cocktail is stuffed with fruit, so you can pretend you're being healthy when you order a second round.

Friday, December 21

Today's the last day on the Mayan calendar, and regardless whether you believe the end is nigh or it's just another day, it is a Friday. AKA time to par-tay. The End of the World bash at Beaumarchais will feature champagne, festive Mayan decor and dancing. The shindig goes all night.

Saturday, December 22

Take a trip to Long Island City to check out the recently launched brunch burger at the neighborhood's outpost of Corner Bistro. The formula for improving one of the city's best burgers was simple and tasty: add a fried egg. Drool.

Sunday, December 23

The New Amsterdam Market returns today with a solstice-themed selection. You can expect stollen from Hot Bread Kitchen and warm drinks like hot apple cider, Mexican hot chocolate and Glogg from a number of other purveyors.
