LA's 10 Biggest Restaurant Trends of 2012

Tsujita + uni = two great 2012 trends in one
LA is where everyone tries to keep up with the Joneses, and nowhere is it more apparent than in the dining scene. As soon as one place finds success with sausages and beer, five more pop up around the city. And pop-ups? The chefs running the temporary restaurants are starting to find permanent homes, almost en masse. If you want Cali-Southern cuisine - much different than Southern Californian cuisine - there are at least three places for country ham, chow chow and biscuits with local honey. And uni's not just for the sushi bar anymore. Take a look at some of the biggest dining and drinking trends across LA this year, and let us know your favorites, hits and misses in the comments.

  1. Burger Lounge rocks for Grass-Fed Burgers. Elevated, consistent good food with solid service. Salads are healthy and beautiful. Vegetable Salad or Quinoa Salad with healthy doses of Kale and tiny roasted almonds. Did I just say that? Roasted Tomato Vinaigrette.

Cool environment, clean and clear thinking. Fries and Onion Rings are house-made and high potato class. Onion Rings are light, crispy and lovable.
