Chima Introduces Cheesesteak on a Stick

You’ll find many cheesesteak purists in Philadelphia, sandwich conservatives who decry spin-offs like “cheesesteak egg rolls" and are adamant that even a construction that includes peppers in the mix won't count as the real thing. What would these people say about Chima’s newest creation, we wonder? The Brazilian steakhouse on JFK Boulevard has come up with the rodizio version: cheesesteak on a stick.

An eye round roast is stuffed with provolone cheese and then grilled. The oozing combo is then offered sliced to order on your plate by the restaurant’s roaming gauchos, who will even bring a side of fried onions if you like yours “wit.” The only thing missing is a hoagie roll. Fusion cuisine has just been taken to a whole new level - whether that’s good or bad is up to you to decide (215-525-3233).
