Celebrate Boxing Day at Memphis Taproom and Pub & Kitchen

Unwind with all-day brunch at Pub & Kitchen
Not even full-blooded Brits know where the term “Boxing Day” comes from, but that doesn’t stop us from being huge fans of the day-after-Christmas U.K. holiday. If you’re lucky enough to escape work on December 26, take advantage of these two special events to unwind from your holiday hassle.

Out in Kensington, fried pickle haven Memphis Taproom is hosting “No Kid Hungry Boxing Day,” a special beer festival that will benefit hunger nonprofit Taste of the Nation. A special lineup of a dozen seasonal ales will pour starting at 11:30 AM, and 5% of all draft sales through 5 PM will go directly to the charity. Plus, the bar is collecting canned food donations - bring three cans and get $1 off your first beer - and gently used warm coats. Head out and drink for the kids (215-425-4460).

In Center City, Lombard Street’s Pub & Kitchen is continuing an annual tradition and throwing an all-day party. From 11 AM—11 PM, enjoy a British-inspired Boxing Day Brunch menu with dishes like bangers and mash; roast beef with horseradish cream; and fish 'n' chips, complete with mushy peas. Also expect plenty of drink specials, for those of you who ate your fill at Christmas dinner but would still very much enjoy getting out for a quick nip (215-545-0350).
