Yolk), we didn't feel like battling rush-hour traffic and instead stopped for a respite at L&E Oyster Bar. Get there right when it opens and your sure to find a seat, as we practically had the place to ourselves, at least long enough to down a few oysters and a glass of Muscadet. We've had clams casino many times before but never oysters casino. We're hooked. The fresh Hama Hamas were cooked just enough so they were plump and juicy, topped with butter, paprika, lemon and Neuske's bacon. The oysters Rockefeller are pretty dynamite, too, topped with creamed spinach and cheese. Traffic hadn't died down by the time we left, but at least we were a lot happier driving in it.
L & E, one of the Hottest New Restaurants of 2012, is gearing up to celebrate its first year anniversary next month (January 24). The hope is that they'll have the new second floor expansion open by then, which will add a lot more room for sipping and nibbling. Yet another thing to look forward to in 2013.
