The award-winning father-and-daughter team of Juan Mari and Elena Arzak are to open a new restaurant in London, based at the Halkin Hotel in Belgravia. The new restaurant will be called Ametsa (which means 'dream' in the Basque language) and will be run by a team of five chefs (including Juan Mari and Elena) drawn from the acclaimed Arzak in San Sebastian. Perhaps you haven't heard of them? Arzak was ranked the world's eighth best restaurant by the World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards, Elena was handed their Veuve Clicquot World's Best Female Chef Award in April this year, and her father picked up the Lifetime Achievement award last year. It's pretty much like Noma or El Bulli opening in London. Big Hospitality reports that the restaurant is due February 2013.
