Weekend Roundup: Sandwich Face-Off, Mystery Dinner from Marc Orfaly

Marc Orfaly's Pigalle
Welcome to the weekend! Hungry? We have a few ideas to satisfy your cravings.

Bambara’s chef Jay Silva is keeping the Halloween love going with a special four-course prix fixe spooky menu tonight and tomorrow. Blood orange oysters on the half shell; ghost pepper flatbread and rib eye; and bags of sweet treats are part of the spooky menu (dinner service 5-11 PM; $31 per person; 617-868-4444).

Chez Henri’s Paul O’Connell invites friends to show off their sammies for the National Sandwich Day Face-Off tomorrow, November 3, when All Star Sandwich Bar, Roxy’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese and Chez Henri show off their best sandwich creations. You get to try them all and vote on a winner (plus you get an appetizer and dessert from Chez Henri). The six seatings will begin at 1 PM (617-354-8980; click here for tickets and more info).

We love surprises. That’s why we recommend you head to Pigalle in the Theater District on Sunday for Marc Orfaly's mystery ride dinner - “You Get What You Get and Don’t Get Upset." What “you get” is a four-course meal prepared by the James Beard nominated chef Marc Orfaly with no substitutions and no complaining. We don’t think you will though because it’s a steal: each meal includes wine pairings (5-9:30 PM; $40 per person; 617-423-4999). P.S. If you miss this Sunday, you’re in luck. He’s doing it every Sunday until he calls Uncle.
