The Frasers Officially Take Over Vibiana, New Resto, Bar Next Year

It's been a long time coming, but Neal and Amy Knoll Fraser have officially taken over operations at the Vibiana Cathedral in Downtown LA. The two closed the beloved Grace restaurant in 2010 with the intention of reopening at the Vibiana, which has taken a little longer than expected. But the papers have been signed, and Neal Fraser & Co. at Vibiana are the exclusive caterers for all events in the architectural gem (weddings, weddings, weddings), including a cocktail program by Julian Cox and Josh Goldman (Short Order, Picca, Sotto, Bestia). But what of the restaurant?

It's coming, probably late next year. We know you've heard that one before (in 2011 and again earlier this year). But it seems the biggest obstacle was signing on the dotted lines, which just recently happened. As planned, the restaurant will go into the former rectory - often referred to as The Rectory, but the name hasn't been decided on yet. This, too, will have a bar program with Cox and Goldman, adding to the already liquified Downtown drinking scene. Not that we're complaining.

Meanwhile, Fraser's Fritzi Dog is hitting the spot at the Farmers Market, and at BLD, pastry chef Mariah Swan will open ICDC (ice cream, donuts, coffee) off to the side at the Beverly Boulevard restaurant. The switchover has already started, so expect some of that sweetness soon.
