The Best Thing We Drank Last Night: Sweet Chili Sake at Sen

The other night we stopped by Hamptons-import Sen to check out their sushi and sexy decor (stay tuned for a full report), and we had to give a special shout out to the best sake we had from their extensive and affordable list. Hannya sake is a spicy and sweet mixture that works great as a treat during dessert. The first notes are of sweet plum, and the spice slowly creeps up on you as you sip. The small bottle is perfect for sharing, and we love that the little devil on the front looks over you as you slowly sip from our glass (or not so slowly, this stuff is so tasty that you'll gulp it down quick.

If you're a sake novice, Sen is a great place to get your bearings. The by-the-glass sake offerings are laid out on a helpful grid that charts them on a range in two categories - "Dry to Sweet" and "Light to Full." There are  plenty of offerings at every level, and the visualization is a great way to get your bearings. Sadly, this is the only bottle we found that comes imprinted with a demon.
