The Best Thing We Ate This Weekend: Chipotle'd Chicken Taco from Brooklyn Taco Co.

Let's face it, anytime of year is the perfect time for a taco...even five days before Thanksgiving. But it's rare that we get a chance to taste one of our favorite taco-slingers in the game, Brooklyn Taco Co., which is headquartered in Essex Street Market, but this past weekend was set up at the Unique NYC holiday fair. Former Maialino line cook Jesse Kramer started the biz a few years back with girlfriend Erica Molina, originally in Williamsburg's Artists and Fleas. Now the two have been successfully operating out of a stall at Essex Street Market selling taco varieties like Drunken Goat (goat shoulder braised in beer) and our favorite, the Chipotle'd Chicken, shown above. The chicken is braised in a chipotle broth so it's spicy and tender and topped with queso fresco, crema, salsa fresca and salsa roja. Their commitment to using high quality ingredients and authentic preparations make Brooklyn Taco a must-try for any Mexican food lover in NYC.
