Gemma is one of our all-purpose mainstays. It's good for special dinners, casual brunches, dining alone at the bar, or just a random night out with friends when you want quality without breaking the bank. The other night, we dropped by with a friend after dinner for some Lambrusco, and couldn't resist noshing on some of the Italian fare (second dinner - the best meal of the day, right?).
We loved the crostini with blue cheese and figs, and are going to have to work extra hard at the gym tonight to work off that pizza with spicy sausage, but our favorite was the simple plate of meats and cheeses that we nibbled on through that second (and third) glass. The chef's selection is only $18 and leaves plenty for sharing - if the restaurant works for any occasion, this is the dish that you can order whenever you visit.
