Philly Burger Guide: Must-Try Burgers in 12 Neighborhoods

Debates about who serves the best burger can get more heated than arguments over politics. There are quite a few contenders for the top spot in Philadelphia - so many, in fact, that we’ve created a guide to the best burgers in each of the 12 different neighborhoods. Check out all the options in the slide show below, and let us know which ones you love. Haven’t tried them yet?   1. The 1516 burger is described as having "minimal toppings" -- pickles, onions, tomato and lettuce, along with pepperjack cheese -- but the burger pictured only has what looks like bacon and blue cheese.

  4. I understand the scope of your listings...but for everyday great burgers "Five Guys" is a welcome addition to any neighborhood.

  6. Totally disagree about West Philly. Baby Blues BBQ's Willie Brown burger is phenomenal. Best burger I have had outside of the South.

  8. Some people say I have a big mouth. That may be true but the pictured burgers would give me an awfully hard time. How about a thinner but wider version?

  9. Ela?? Please, and it's only available during happy hour and brunch, how pretentious, it's a friggin burger. Royal Tavern hands down has the best burger in QV and you can get it every minute they are open.

  12. No burger I ever ordered at South Philly Tap Room looked even remotely like the one in the picture. And they don't do medium rare. Best burger hardly, best scam. For a great South Philly burger at an awesome bar, check out POPE.

  13. The Northeast is left out? Really? I think CC snobs need to realize the city extends beyond their back windows. If this were really a neighborhood review, it would feature the whole city. There are good burger places that aren't 5 guys in the area.

    P.S. So glad to see Pub and Kitchen NOT mentioned. Their burgers are over-priced and consistently over-cooked.
