NYC Fast Food Workers Stage Walk-Outs, Strikes Today

You might have to wait a little longer for that Papa John's Pizza today (or KFC chicken, or Big Mac), as workers in the Big Apple's fast food industry are staging strikes today in the attempt to bring union representation to the businesses. According to the NY Times, the New York walk outs are the first salvo in a nationwide push to bring unions to fast food establishments. Today's strikes are being supported by national organizations like the Service Employees International Union and religious leaders. The fast food chains haven't offered comment yet, but industry watchers think the drive to unionize will face resistance and be hindered by the high turnover in the profession.
