Today the Momofuku empire will be offering several ways to get involved. From noon-10 PM, the Williamsburg Milk Bar location will be hosting a Noodle Bar pop-up where, for $10, you can purchase two buns to go, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross. In Midtown at Má Pêche, Dave Arnold, Tristan Willey and the rest of the Booker and Dax team will be making cocktails from 5 PM until close, and all proceeds from the drinks (and lunch and dinner at the restaurant) will also go to the Red Cross. Lastly, given that the Downtown locations of David Chang's restaurants are out of service, his team will be joining forces with Café Boulud to create a six-course dinner with beverage pairings featuring dishes from the chefs at Boulud, Ssäm and Ko. Tickets are $495 (all-inclusive) and can be purchased here.
Not that you needed an additional reason to visit, but over in Greenpoint, the popular Australian-influenced New American restaurant Five Leaves has similarly announced that all profits from today's sales will also be going to local relief charities [via Eater]. And for those steak fiends, Midtown's Benjamin Steakhouse will be donating 10% of its proceeds from the entire weekend to the Red Cross.
Even restaurants that aren't open yet are getting into the charitable spirit. Soon-to-open UWS Spanish restaurant Casa Pomona will be hosting a benefit dinner on Monday with Italian guest chef Fabrizia Lanza. The Coming Home to Sicily author will collaborate with executive chef Jodi Bernhard on a $75 dinner, with 50% of their proceeds going toward a local charity (call 212-362-3200 to RSVP).
Finally, in an effort to reward do-gooders, all locations of Chop't north of 24th Street (save for the 56th Street location) will be giving a free snack or beverage to guests who can prove they've donated to the Red Cross. Get the ball rolling by contributing here.
