Whiskey Ward heads out for an evening on the town. Despite his Gallagher costume (because of it?), the female bartender he meets takes a shine to him, and the pair hit it off. Fast forward a few years, and the couple are dreaming of opening a spot of their own. They look for locations all over the city, but are put off by NYC’s steep set-up costs - they don’t want a whole bunch of investors. Enter dad, who offers to be a partner and set up a loan if they open in Philadelphia instead of New York. And Lloyd Whiskey Bar is born.
It isn’t until nearly 18 months later that Scott and Taylor Coudriet (and Scott’s father, Lloyd Coudriet) open the doors at the Fishtown bar, just a few blocks over from Frankford Avenue on East Girard. Things are now in full swing at the clean and cozy room, which aims to be a non-pretentious place for really fantastic drinks and awesome food. What, exactly? Read on to find out.
