Hudson Hotel is getting ready for winter, and while you won't find a ski slope anywhere in Manhattan, you'll be able to drop in for some action once you pretend to kill it on the black diamond. The hotel is outfitting their outdoor garden for winter and calling it Hudson Lodge - there will be a tent pitched outside where guests can enjoy hot chocolate (surely with booze) and some seasonal fondues. To keep up the illusion of the slopes (the bar is billing itself as an "apres-ski" destination), the area will be decorated with fake snow.
Also, in a little noticed move, the hotel quietly shuttered it's famous Hudson Bar (the one with the colorful ceiling) and is remodeling it. The property's Facebook page revealed that the location, which was pretty rad but does feel a bit dated, will reopen as a "new nightlife venture in late November." We'll look forward to that one.
