Dungeness Crab Dinner Tonight (and every Monday) at Oakland's Camino

Sorry steak lovers. In honor of the newly opened Dungeness crab season, chef Russ Moore of Camino in Oakland is jettisoning his regular Monday Night Steak Dinner for a weekly crab feast. Tonight's three-course menu will feature a half (or full-sized) Dungeness crab that's been grilled in the fireplace and served with grilled with cauliflower, beets and faro as the main attraction. The full menu, which begins with an avocado and kabocha squash salad and ends with a dessert comprised of Barhi dates, candied orange peel and sbriosalana cookies, cost $34 per person, $12 more for a full crab. (As always with Camino's Monday night dinners, guests can always opt for the regular a la carte menu). While you're there, be sure to order this week's cocktail, The New York Sour, whose total proceeds will go to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

It all goes down starting tonight so if you want in, get cracking. The Monday Night Dungeness crab dinners will continue through the end of December, although the specific menu items will change weekly (Camino, 3917 Grand Ave, Oakland, 510-547-5035).
