| Anthony Bourdain in "Back to Beirut" episode of No Reservations |
The celebrity chef, author extraordinaire and star of
Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (final episode November 5, by the way) comes to Boston Symphony Hall Friday, November 16. With “
Guts and Glory: An Evening with Anthony Bourdain,” we can only assume he’ll leave the audience rapt (or offended) with his wit, reading from whatever he’s got on hand (
Nasty Bits,
Medium Raw) and giving us dining and cooking tips along the way. Tickets are still available but not cheap, anywhere from $55 to $200 online. Good luck (8 PM;

In case you're going, here are a few picks for nearby eateries:
Brasserie Jo for French fare in a European-chic, efficient setting (Colonnade Hotel; 617-425-3240); the refined and zen-like
Haru Sushi for Japanese (55 Huntington Ave.; 617-536-0770);
5 Napkin Burger for juicy burgers in a laid-back tavern (Prudential Center, 105 Huntington Ave.; 617-375-2277); and
Parish Cafe in the South End for affordable gourmet sandwiches (493 Mass. Ave.; 617-391-0501).
