It is well known that there are fewer things more British than a curry. And so to the eighth British Curry Awards, an annual gala celebrating an industry valued at £3.5 billion a year and worthy of a mention in Parliament. The bash in Battersea this week saw the opulent Bombay Palace in Paddington walk away with the Best London Restaurant award, beating 14 other nominees. The restaurant opened in 1981 on a site that was previously an Angus Steak House, and its most popular dishes include grilled prawns and succulent lamb chops. Definitely somewhere to try.
Of course, Zagat users have the final word - check out surveyor's list of London's best Indian restaurants, and be sure to go review your favorites on Google+ Local.
