We're all for celebrating good food from local chefs and agriculture, with a healthy dose of both good and food. For the good, on November 2, there's a bonafide barn raising at John Muir High School, and the Good Food Festival & Conference, a day full of panel discussions and art appreciate at LACMA on November 2. Tickets are $45 and includes admission to the museum. And the food?
The weekend culminates with Localicious, a grand tasting that pairs 30 of the city's top chefs with ingredients from 30 local farmers, indcluding match-ups between Akasha, Ammo, Border Grill, Cooks Couny, Fig, Il Grano and Joe's, among others, with Flora Bella Farms, Harry's Barry's, Jimenez Family Farms, Pudwil, Rutiz and more. Basically it's a who's who of the farmers markets with proceeds benefitting FamilyFarmed.org, whose mission is to expand the production, marketing and distribution of locally grown and responsibly produced food in order to enhance the social, economic and environmental health of our communities. The event takes place at Santa Monica's Annenberg Community Beach House, and tickets are $125 per person.
