Call him the Comeback Kid. Acclaimed chef George Morrone has been around the block and then some for the past three decades helming the stoves at some of the Bay’s most high-profile joints (Aqua, Fifth Floor, Tartare, Campton Place) along with a series of short-lived consulting gigs (Boca Steak, Sutro's). Now the Inside Scoop reports that Morrone is back, sort of, as the executive consulting chef cooking for the swells at the Corinthian Yacht Club (shown above) in Tiburon. (We do remember that Morrone told us how much he loved working on the waterfront when he was at Sutro's.) Never heard of the Corinthian Yacht Club? Neither did we, as the club is an exclusive members-only dining room. It seems like the management snagged Morrone just in time to get the tony waterfront venue up to snuff in time for next year’s America’s Cup. Because membership does have its privileges.
