Weekend Planner: October 11-14

There's plenty of food-focused fun to be had over the few days, whether you're looking for addictive street eats or an extravagant brunch.

Following the success of their Asian Burger event over the summer, mobile food vendors Kimchi Cult and Sho Foo Doh are hosting an Asian Bird evening (6-11 PM) at The Dentist in Hackney. Expect crispy Korean fried chicken, music and lots of fun.

Book now for next Tuesday's talk (October 23) - What On Earth Are You Eating? The Secret Life of Food - at The Royal Geographical Society. Speakers include food critic AA Gill and Architectural Foodsmith Sam Bompas. Tickets (£25) available online.

Saturday is the new Sunday so treat yourself to Saturday brunch at Helen Darroze at The Connaught. Dig into homemade Danish pastries, cooked-to-order waffles, creamy scrambled eggs and organic fruit salad at the all-you-can-eat buffet.

Make the most of National Chocolate Week before it ends at chocolatier Paul A. Young's pop-up shop in The Folly in the City. Open until the end of October, you'll find an indulgent selection of truffles in unusual flavours like spiced pumpkin pie, peanut butter and raspberry jelly, Stichelton cheese and sweet bramble.
