Ashmont Grill patio
Don’t forget to check out the Food Truck Throwdown Saturday, when Boston’s top food trucks compete against those of New York City on the Rose Kennedy Greenway (11 AM-9 PM; click here for details). And if you’re in the South End, stop by Stir, Barbara Lynch’s cooking studio and bookstore for an early pre-holiday sale and baked goods (617-423-7847).

On Sunday, it’s the last chance for yoga on the Ashmont Grill patio. Class starts at 9:30 AM followed by brunch ($25 per person; 617-825-4300).

Moving into Monday, on October 15 check out Tremont 647’s Caribbean-themed dinner that features tropical dishes like spit-roasted jerk chicken, conch fritters and more, served family style with rum drinks (6 PM; $29 per person for tickets; 617-266-4600). You can also learn some new moves in the kitchen. Enroll in a class with Harvest chef Mary Dumont, who will teach you how to whip up some hearty fare paired with beer at the Boston Center for Adult Education (6 PM; $70 per person plus $15 for class materials; 617-267-4430 or click her to sign up).
