Hickory Lane Bistro recently got a liquor license to complement chef Matt Zagorski’s cuisine, and the Fairmount eatery is taking advantage with a pinot noir wine dinner on Wednesday, October 17. The $95 per person, five-course meal will feature both old and new world pinots, and will highlight the differences between them. A reception begins at 7 PM, and dinner starts at 7:30 PM. Space is limited, reservations are suggested (215-769-2420).
If you’re looking to spend an evening in Fairmount drinking beer instead, head to London Grill, where Terry Berch McNally will host a Pumpkin Fest. A “pumpkin firkin” (the squash hollowed out to hold beer) will pour Dogfish Head Punkin Ale, and selected seasonal drafts will be on offer for $1 off. Bring your carved pumpkin over at 7 PM and you could win a prize - just showing up with an entry will score you a free beer (215-978-4545).
