Shortly before Storm Sandy had us scurrying for survival supplies, Tony and Joe’s Seafood Place and Nick’s Riverside Grill held a gala opening celebrating the resurrection of Washington Harbour. It was almost ironic. Some 19 months after the devastating flood following severe rains shut down restaurants and stores in the complex, two of its popular dining establishments are back in business. Another restaurant, Farmers Fishers Bakers, will open next week. What’s more, there’s a new outdoor ice rink, reportedly larger than the one in Rockefeller Center, slated to open next month. Check out the restoration in the slide show. Happily, yesterday the flood gates were up so the newly restored spots are safe.
