The Parish Now Does Breakfast and Happy Hour Downtown

The Parish, Casey Lane's newish Downtown gastropub, has hit some high notes of late, with a very good review from the Los Angeles Times, plus some pretty dynamite poutine that recently made us happy. Now it's about to get even tastier, earlier. A new breakfast menu debuts today, with dishes like smoked trout with jalapeno slaw, grilled escarole over eggs, sweet and savory beignets (maple bacon!), plus fresh-baked muffins, brioche rolls and danishes. Breakfast will be served every day from 7:30-11:30 AM, and the ground-floor cafe will have pastries and coffee all day.

Should you need to bookend your day in the Fashion District, stop in for the new happy hour with bar bites like house-made sausage with sauerkraut and mash, cornbread pudding and scotch eggs. Drink specials include $5 punch cocktails, and $2 off draft beer and wines by the glass. Happy hour goes from 5-6:30 PM (840 S. Spring St.; 213-225-2400).
