The Best Thing We Ate This Weekend: Huevos Cubanos at Cubana Social
We made our first-ever visit to the two-year-old Williamsburg hotspot Cubana Social this weekend for brunch and were more than pleasantly surprised by just about everything we tasted. We started with the empanadas which had a wonton-like pastry crust that was perfectly crisp and buttery and stuffed with savory fillings like chorizo and potato. For our main plate, we went for the huevos Cubanos - a composed plate if you will featuring eggs, black beans, cotija cheese, sliced avocado and a choice of either picadillo or chicken. We also tasted a friend's medianoche sandwich which was probably one of the best we've had in NYC - being that the pan Cubano here (Cuban-style bread) is absolutely perfect. (We ordered an extra side of it toasted with butter, natch.) Cubana Social is located at 70 N. 6th Street in Brooklyn.

Kelly, I love you, but that is the least appetizing food photo I have ever ever ever seen.
