The Department of Justice has filed a complaint against the NYC branches of
Rosa Mexicano, which are being accused of violating the American's with Disabilities Act. Restaurants are supposed to be accessible to patrons in wheelchairs and,
according to Crain's, Rosa was called out for having second floor bathrooms in it's Lincoln Center location with no ramps or elevators. The restaurant is apparently cooperating, but the move to file a complaint may be a warning sign to other eateries. The DOJ has apparently been sniffing around other city venues and this is the first lawsuit that was filed. We imagine more than a few restaurant owners are taking another look at the act to see if they comply.
