After a year of hosting culinary classes, we've received word that come January the demonstration kitchen COOK will be offering a special "Masters Program" in which 10 local students will receive free tutorials (up to 20 hours worth) on topics covering the likes of hospitality, knife skills, butchery, pasta-making and more from over 11 Philly superstars, including Marc Vetri (Vetri, Osteria), Michael Solomonov (Zahav, Federal Donuts) and Aimee Olexy (Talula's Table, Talula's Garden).
How to you secure one of these coveted spots? The folks over at Foobooz will be deciding who makes the cut, but you shouldn't be scared off if you're not a professional. Desired applicants may be in culinary school or work in kitchens as line cooks or dishwashers, but restaurant experience and an epic resume aren't necessary. The program is hoping though that the session will end in internships or entry level positions at restaurants though, so you should be serious about pursuing a culinary career. More information about the registration process will soon be up on COOK's website, so stay tuned.
