Oktoberfest at Eastern Standard, Beer at Sel de la Terre and More

Barrel-aged beer is the focus of Sel de la Terre's beer-tasting dinner Tuesday.
Beginning today and lasting all month is Eastern Standard’s version of Oktoberfest. The Kenmore Square bistro will feature à la carte authentic German food and drink to celebrate the season, with options including a sausage platter with German potato salad and sauerkraut ($18); charcuterie served with a baguette, mustard and traditional accompaniments ($12); and Anton’s Liebe Rot: a washed rind organic cow’s milk cheese served with stone fruit mostarda and toasted baguette ($8). In addition, several German beers will be offered by the liter, including Schneider Weisse Hopfen Weisse from Bavaria’s oldest wheat beer brewer ($12); and a dark lager called Mönchshof Schwarzbier with rich chocolate and dark coffee notes ($9) among others (617-532-9100).

October is a big month for beer, and Sel de la Terre Back Bay is continuing “Beer Tuesdays” - a weekly ode to brew. This Tuesday, October 2, the focus is on barrel-aged beers, which will be paired with a four-course menu from chef Daniel Bojorquez. The evenings start at 7 PM ($44 per person; 617-266-8800).

On Wednesday, October 3, dbar in Dorchester features a selection of wines from Australia, and pairs them with a delectable four-course meal (7 PM; $55 per person, excluding tax and gratuity; 617-265-4490).
