Today's jobs report isn't the only thing that bodes well for the economic recovery. Our just-released 2013 New York City Restaurants guide contains some interesting stats on notable openings and closings around town. Although things are still shaky the data points to stabilization as less restaurants are closing - 2012 saw the smallest levels of shutters in the last decade. Even though less joints are shutting down, restaurateurs may be hesitant to launch new eateries. The 119 notable restaurants that opened last year is far below the pre-recession high of 163 in 2006 and 2007.
