On Friday, the Upper West Side got a new Italian offering with the opening of Numero 28 Cucina, an offshoot of the Numero 28 pizzerias around town (there's branches in the East and West Villages and on the Upper East Side). The new establishment serves more than just pizza - this is a proper restaurant as opposed to the casual take-out joints that 28 fans might be used to. A menu of Italian fare includes Sicilian dishes like arancine rice balls, fish crudo and a selection of pastas like swordfish carbonara. The rustic decor is built around a wood-burning pizza oven, and an all Italian wine list will complement the cuisine. Take a look at the full menu below the jump (660 Amsterdam Ave.; 212-706-7282).
