Neighborhood Gems: 10 Restaurants That Quickly Bounced Back

The Smith Midtown kept the crowds well fed
The New York restaurant industry is going to take a long time to fully recover from Hurricane Sandy, but some city eateries bounced right back (and some stayed open throughout the storm), feeding a public that was house-bound as they rode out the weather. Here's a list of places that have been mobbed since Sandy passed, and this doesn't even include restaurants in zones that don't have power at press time. Special accolades should go to places like La Bonbonniere in the West Village and Eolo in Chelsea, which have managed to dish out grub by candlelight.

We offer our best wishes to everyone who's still dealing with the recovery. See more of our hurricane coverage here.
