Mark Gold Begs for Help to Save Eva Restaurant

While chef Mark Gold is off staging at Noma in Copenhagen, his Beverly Boulevard restaurant Eva is in jeopardy. He sends a desperate plea via Facebook: "We need to raise $12k by Thursday to keep our doors open!!! We are required to file an appeal with the city of Los Angeles to relocate 4 parking spaces. We will not be able to keep our liquor license without it, and we will have to close." He blames the local home association for these new permitting issues, and this particular one is pretty hard-core, having given plenty of restaurateurs headaches in the past. Still, the papers couldn't have been filed overnight, but fixing it is obviously down to the wire.

Gold begs (in ALL CAPS) that anyone and everyone who's a fan of the bistro donate what they can via PayPal or by dropping it off at the restaurant. And for every donation, you will get back 50% back in credit to use at Eva. Remember: supporting your favorite restaurant by more than just eating there is the wave of the future.

  1. Lesley, thank you so much for spreading the word. We have been fighting this issue for years and it has gotten to the point where the financial drain of filing appeals is just too much. This is why so many other small restaurants in the area have just given up, but Mark wants to fight to save our beloved Eva.
