One of North Hollywood's newest, Bow & Truss, launched its new lunch menu last week. Now you can get mid-day Latin-inspired dishes like grilled sea bass tacos with carrot slaw, open-faced bocadillos with pulled chiken or cheesy jamon, and cocktails designed by Aiden Demerest (Neat) and Marcos Tello. If you haven't tasted Smog City Brewing's beers yet, this local up-and-comer is worth seeking out. Tonight it celebrates its first year anniversary at Burbank's favorite beer bar, Tony's Darts Away. Power brewing couple Jonathan and Laurie Porter will be on hand to discuss their beers like Smog City XPA, Hoptonic IP and the super sippable LA Saison. Festivities start at 6 PM (1710 W. Test Kitchen at Bestia turns to the top chefs of Mexico this weekend, with Benito Molina kicking things off tonight. Taste dishes from his restaurant Manzanilla, including clamato with dried meat and mezcal, ceviche, fish with shrimp and cactus beans, chilmole marinated pork with apples and gaujillo polenta, and chamomilie panna cotta. To honor the Stanley Kubrick exhibit opening at LACMA today, chef Kris Morningstar and barman Paul Sanguinetti have created a couple of Clockwork Orange-inspired dishes and drinks at Ray's and Stark Bar. After checking out the extensive retrospective on the legendary film auteur's accomplishments, sip grab a bite at the restaurant, or sip on the Clockwork Orange (bourbon, amaro, fresh carrot juice, caraway foam) at the bar.
