FREE Anniversary Pizza at Maximiliano

Chef Andre Guerrero is no stranger to successful restaurants. A fixture on the LA dining scene for more than 20 years, having worked at the Biltmore Hotel before opening Senor Fred, the now-defunct Max and the super popular Oinkster in Eagle Rock. Even Little Bear, his Belgian-themed gastropub in the Arts District downtown, is always packed. But last year he opened Maximiliano, a red-sauce neighborhood place for old-school classics like spaghetti and meatballs and pizza, and comfort food American dishes like pan-roasted pork chops with butternut squash puree. People have taken to the Highland Park spot well, or they just love the spaghetti walls - the restaurant celebrates its first anniversary this Sunday with specials and freebies.

From 10 AM to close, staffers will hand out 500 pizza coins made from recycled vinyl records allowing  you one free pizza (next visit, dine-in only, one per customer). At 8 PM, sing happy birthday to Maximiliano's and get a free slice of cake. We don't know what "pizza cake" is, but we think we want it.
