We have a date! This coming Wednesday at 5 PM, doors will open at Fette Sau, the Fishtown BBQ collaboration between Steven Starr and NYC’s Joe Carroll, who we chatted with in September. A sister restaurant to the Williamsburg original, the Philly outpost will offer a rotating selection of six different dry-rubbed and smoked meats, ordered by the pound at a walk-up counter along with sides like broccoli salad and burnt end baked beans. Swing by the bar to choose from nine beers (including three custom local brews) and one cider on tap, then take your tray to one of 130 seats at communal picnic tables. There’s also an extensive brown liquor selection to keep the party going. After the grand opening on Wednesday, Fette Sau will be open for dinner seven days a week through 11 PM, and for brunch on weekends, starting at noon. Count us in.
