Epic Tomato Tasting Dinner Tomorrow Night at Fifth Floor

Listen up peeps. If you missed the season’s previous tomato festivals and dinners, here’s your last chance. Chef David Bazirgan of SoMa's Fifth Floor is pulling out all the stops for a last hurrah tomato-inspired tasting dinner tomorrow night showcasing the infamous dry farmed tomatoes from Dirty Girl Farm. If you’ve never had a dry farmed tomato before, you haven’t truly eaten at tomato (they’re that good) and head farmer Joe Schirmer of Dirty Girl Farm will be on hand to talk all about them. The seven-course tomato tasting menu will be featuring tomatoes in all their versatile glory from a cocktails to cevice to dessert (yep, tomato-jam ice cream). Individual tomato dishes may also be order a la carte.

October 10, 5:30-10 PM, tasting menu is $95 per person, $68 for optional wine pairings; a special tomato-inspired cocktail, “Sunrise on the Horizon” (made with aqua vit, tomato juice, vermouth and finished with a habanero tincture) will also be available at the bar for $13. Slow Cooked Tomato Flan | black garlic espuma, blue basil flowers

Poached Maine lobster | sauce choron, chorizo, piperade, haricots vert

Egg Yolk Raviolo |  ricotta, black olive , garden herbs, saffron-tomato sugo

Fallon Hills Ranch Lamb | cranberry beans, fattoush, oven dried tomato, tahini

Fromage Blanc Tart | pinenut, tomato jam ice cream, raspberries
